Results of the World Fair Trade Day Contest
We were thrilled at the response to our contest, and thank all of you that participated. World Fair Trade Day was an important opportunity for us to spread the word about and celebrate fair trade.
Here, finally, are the three lucky winners:
Winner of the canoe from Mountain Equipment Co-op (Evergreen) with a dry bag filled with Cocoa Camino chocolate
Grant told us that his family was excited to have a canoe for the summer!
Grant Dickinson, Langley, British Columbia
Winner of the chest from Ten Thousand Villages, with a drawer filled with Cocoa Camino/Ten Thousand Villages chocolate
Cynthia and her partner Rob try to make ethical and environmental choices where possible. Being aware of tree and rainforest issues, the Tropical Salvage furniture fits very well with their lifestyle and personal preferences.
Cynthia Wilson, Woodlawn, Ontario
Winner of the gift card from Mountain Equipment Co-op
"It was really awesome winning a prize for doing something I feel passionately about… buying fair trade products. I shop at MEC whenever I get the chance and look forward to buying something useful [with the gift card] for our next adventure in California."
Bruce Davison, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

la siembra in panama
La Siembra is off to Panama to visit COCABO, the cocoa producer co-operative that supplies the beans for our Panama Extra Dark Bar. We'll be keeping a blog about our trip, so you can follow our visit as we meet cocoa producers, visit cocoa groves and learn more about the world of fair trade cocoa.
